Time flies when you're having fun, and the second beta is coming to a close soon. While these patch notes are shorter, they are dense. We've implemented the first Premium statistics page (still free to access), done balance changes. And last but not least, set up a wiki for the game!

Something related to the game, but not quite: we now have an Aether Kingdoms Wiki! Maintaining the guide while working on a rapidly changing game is quite the hassle. We find ourselves consistently outpaced by the players. So, instead of fighting it, we would like to invite everyone to our own community wiki!

The wiki is hosted by the Aether Kingdoms team and set up by our first maintainer. We hope the game and its community keep growing together, and that the wiki adds to that.

Features added

  • A quick upgrade option was added to the village resources page. Select this option to upgrade resource fields in quick succession without leaving the page.
  • Premium: added village notes. Store notes for each of your villages to remember plans or communicate with duals and sitters.
  • Premium: added the first graphs for the Premium Stats regarding the village queue with various filters.

Balance changed

Once again we're making balancing changes. The units have been moving in the right direction, but we're seeing defenders unable to keep up troop numbers under continued pressure. As a result, we're focusing on rebalancing unit costs and production times to further strengthen individual units' identity.

The new unit stats The new unit stats

Spearman, halberdier, longbow and crossbow are quite a bit cheaper. Knight and cataphract have become more expensive, as they were much too strong compared to their cost and build time.

Improvements made

  • The Production resource is now named Industry, to avoid the confusion with the production of other resources.
  • The Merchants widget for the Village Overview was redesigned.
  • The builder checkbox was replaced by a single button, requiring fewer actions overall.

Bugs squashed

  • The movement speed on calling back full reinforcements is now computed correctly.
  • Wall damage is now distributed appropriately, instead of having to many damage rolls on every attack.

Hope to see you in game! Play Aether Kingdoms now!
