Shortly after the Alpha 2 server ends we're back! This time with two newsworthy items: Aether Accounts and the Plains 1 beta server.
Plains 1 (beta) server
Alpha 2 was a success. We ran a full game server over 5 months and fixed plenty of bugs. Connecting the game server to the Aether Account was the major technical upgrade needed to start again.
The Plains 1 server will start on 07/10/2025, 18:00:00 UTC.

New Empire features
We also worked on the Empire part of the game. They were still in an alpha state and are now reworked to:
- Give individual members detailed permissions, such as can invite, can kick and can write empire messages.
- Give individual members a role description that appears on the internal Empire members list. Can be toggled to show next to the member's name on the public profile as well.
- Read and (if you have permissions) write Empire News items that show up on the Empire home page.
- Reworked the Empire interface with a cleaned up home page.
- Allow a leader to change the Empire's name, tag and profile description.

Aether Accounts
To make playing Aether Kingdoms more comfortable, we've migrated the accounts from the game server to a central account service. You now only have to register once to enjoy a one-click login to each active game server.

With an Aether Account you get:
- A single account for all Aether Kingdoms game servers.
- Seamless, one-click login on each game server.
- Easy swapping between game servers when playing more than one. Just click log out and log in to the server of your choice.
- The ability to add duals, so you can play a Kingdom together with one or more friends without having to share a password.
